D.L Evans Bank-D.L. Evans Bank would like to offer twenty-eight (28) $500 scholarship to the 2017 graduating high school seniors.  Scholarships will be offered to students who plan on attending one of the following colleges/universities:

  • College of Southern Idaho

  • College of Western Idaho

  • College of Idaho

  • University of Idaho

  • Idaho State University

  • Boise State University

  • Brigham Young University-Idaho

Four scholarships to each of these college/universities, for a total of $2,000 per college/university will be awarded.  Applications are available online at www.dlevans.com or in the Counseling Office.  Application deadline is March 6, 2017.

Better Business Bureau Northwest  2017 Students of Integrity Scholarship-Applications for this scholarship opportunity are available online at:  http://www.bbb.org/northwest/charities-donors/about-us/bbb-foundation/current-scholarship-campaign/2016-17_Scholarship/  The deadline for this application is February 13, 2017.

Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association-Students interested in the irrigation industry-majors may include Irrigation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, Crop and Soil Science, Agribusiness, Turf Landscape/Irrigation Architecture and Design, Agriculture/Horticulture Education.  Applicants will be graded on career objective, gpa, activities, and impression.  Points are awarded if an applicant has his/her application signed by an IIEA member.  A list of members can be found at www.idahoirrigationequipmentassociation.org.  See Mrs. Draves for a copy of the application.  The application deadline is Monday, February 26, 2017.

Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship-In an effort to the cause of preventing cyberbullying, the “Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship” for high school students has been created.  The scholarship award is $1,000.  Applicants must write an article of 600-1000 words on the topic, “Why is it important to stop cyberbullying?”  A link to the scholarship page can be found at http://www.parentinn.com/scholarship.  The application deadline is Bebruary 28, 2017.

High Desert Milk Scholarship-Applications for this $1,000 scholarship can be found at http://highdesertmilk.com/pdf/Scholarship.pdf  The application must be received by March 15, 2017.  We are offering this scholarship to seniors graduating this year with interests in agriculture and areas relating to agricultures. Applying seniors must be currently attending one of the following high schools: Burley, Declo, Minico, Kimberly, Murtaugh, Hansen, Oakley, Twin Falls and must be US Citizens.

All Business Conference/Beyond the A,B,C’s of Business-As a student, you are invited to be a part of this conference through a unique scholarship competition sponsored by our College of Southern Idaho Foundation.  You could become a part of our statewide conference and share two days learning and networking with Idaho professionals and presenters who bring businesses to life across our state.  You can also compete to earn your share of awards totaling $6,000 in scholarship monies for the 2017-2018 academic year at CSI.  Applicants must complete a packet and have it returned by 04/03/2017.  Selected applicants will then enter Round 2 of this scholarship competition.  See Mrs. Draves for an application packet (includes doing a Business Solution Challenge video).

Christensen & Hymas Scholarship-Kenneth Christensen and Russell Hymas, the lawyers here, are proud to offer a $1,000 scholarship to qualified applicants.  To apply, you must be currently enrolled in or have been accepted to a university or college in the U.S. and must have a cumulative gpa of 3.5 or higher.  The application can be found at https://chistensenhymas.com/about-us/community-involvement/general-scholarship/

BYU-Idaho Department of Music-Audition dates will be held on January 26 & 27, 2017 on campus and January 28, 2017 in Salt Lake City.  Admission and scholarship deadlines for fall semester are February 1, 2017.  Visit http://www.byui.edu/music/apply to get started.

ISBA Scholarship-The Idaho School Board Association is now accepting applications for the ISBA Scholarship, a scholarship for children and grandchildren of school board members who plan to graduate from an Idaho public school prior to September 1, 2017 and attend post-secondary education upon graduating.  The form to apply is available on ISBA’s website at http://idsba.org/node/88.  The application is due February 3, 2017.

Scholarships are abundant for exceptional athletes, exceptional students and those with proven leadership skills. What about average students? Minority students? Students with talents not as much in-demand?

If you fall into some of the latter categories, you may have been out of luck at one time. But today there are many scholarships for average students, minorities and those with other talents. In fact, there are some just plain weird scholarships that can help you pay for college, just like those scholarships awarded to athletes and over-achievers.

From unusual last names to gender to height and unique talents, these weird scholarships can help defray the cost of your college education if you fit their requirements for eligibility.

Washington University in St. Louis Summer Institutes-The noncredit High School Summer Institutes explore a specialized interest, career, or major.  Institutes combine traditional class and lab curriculum with field trips, guest lectures, and hands-on activities.  Participants will live on campus and participate in a number of activities outside of class including seminars, workshops, and social events.  Scholarship assistance is available for students who demonstrate need.  The following Institutes will be offered:  Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Creative Writing, Communications, Global Leadership, Environmental Studies and Sustainability, Philosophy/Neuroscience/Psychology, Personal Narrative and Young Leaders.  Applicants must be current freshman, sophomore, or junior in high school with a minimum B+ GPA.  For additional information, go to summerexperiences.wustl.edu

OVAC Johnson Memorial Scholarship-The Oakley Valley Arts Council invites 2017 graduating seniors who have been involved in the arts to apply for the Johnson Memorial Scholarship.  This scholarship is in memory of Aaron and Glorian Johnson who were killed in an automobile accident.  The Johnsons enjoyed the arts and were actively involved with Oakley Valley Arts Council.  Two $250 scholarships will be presented to two deserving seniors.  You can pick up an application in the Counseling Office.  Applications must be postmarked no later than March 25, 2017.

Utah State University’s Engineering State Program 2017-Engineering State 2017 will be held on the Utah State University campus June 5-8, 2017.  All high school juniors who are university bound, with a high interest in math and science, and interested in engineering or computer science as a possible field of study are encouraged to apply.  Registration opens on January 2nd and close March 17.  The cost is $150 and includes all meals and accommodations.  For additional information or an application, please see Mrs. Draves in the counseling center.
